While purple is the color of royalty, lavender is the color of femininity. It' has been touted as a grown up pink. While the color lavender has been used to suggest something unique or extremely special it may also be a good choice when you are targeting women. Lavender tends to invoke feelings of nostalgia or romance.
I have used lavender as a lipstick on my dark skin tone and looked great but most recently have used it as a blush and was amazed at its positive effects. Below is an example of another blogger using purple instead of pink for blush.

Lavender's oil have have reported benefited uses such as treating insomnia, alopecia (hair loss), anxiety, stress, and postoperative pain. However, most of these studies have been small. Lavender is also being studied for antibacterial and antiviral properties. Lavender oil is often used in other forms of integrative medicine, such as massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic manipulation.
