Begin with a sharpened pencil, but rub it down a bit on the back of your hand so it's not too sharp. While looking in the mirror, tilt your chin up a few inches and use a finger on your free had to press lightly inward and up on your lid (or down, depending on which lid you're lining) to flip the lash line forward and expose the roots of your lashes.
